JOB TITLE
Information Architect
DESCRIPTION
The IA will work closely within a multi-disciplinary team to support
both the needs of the client and the creative vision of the agency. The
IA must posses the ability to take abstract concepts and client's
business goals and turn them into a clear strategic direction that
ultimately serves the user needs. The IA defines user profiles and
scenarios, and produces site maps and wireframe diagrams to help create
the underlying structure of usable interactive systems. The IA must be
able to work independently and have strong problem solving skills. The
IA will be working closely and collaborating with others in a team
environment under tight deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Creates site maps and wireframes that illustrate site structure, flow,
general layout, navigation controls, and informational relationships
* Defines user profiles, scenarios, and personas
* Presents information architecture work products to clients with a
clear explanation of processes and how their business goals are being
met
* Lead and facilitate Discovery meetings to gather business requirements
and form a clear strategy direction
* Translates complex concepts into user interface solutions
* Focuses on user-centered design principles as foundation for design
solutions
* Assists Account Directors in ensuring information architecture
deadlines are met
* Maintains a positive and creative design culture
* Writes information architecture strategy on assigned projects
* Evangelize and practice POP's commitment to developing exceptional
interactive experiences
SKILLS
* Minimum 2 years of professional experience, with focus on user
experience, information, and/or interaction design.
* Bachelors (or higher) degree in a creative discipline. (Relevant
experience and training will be considered)
* Online portfolio, including examples of known consumer portals, major
consumer brands, media and entertainment experience, medium- and
enterprise-level web applications, and/or integrated branding and
interactive advertising projects at a national/international level.
* Demonstrated ability to combine creative and business goals, and
magnify them with technology's potential to create an innovative and
exceptional solution.
* Strong understanding of front-end interactive design solutions for
database-driven systems. Working knowledge of capabilities of different
platforms and browsers, and their design constraints on the Web.
* Successful experience working with clients and internal team members
including designers, Flash developers, web developers, software
developers, technical analysts, and account directors.
* Excellent working knowledge of Visio, Photoshop and Illustrator
* Strong functional expertise in concept development, information
visualization, diagramming, and interaction design
* Strong written and verbal communication skills required
* Extreme attention to detail
* Ability to multi-task effectively under pressure
* Proactive, conceptual, constructive, and collaborative
