Veredus is working with an established company seeking a User Experience
Architect for the following PERMANENT opportunity:

 

 

Position Summary  

 

The User Experience Architect designs and develops the user interface
layout, organization and hierarchy for complex Web sites and Web
applications within Information Technology.  

 

Detailed Responsibilities

 

*           Tasks include user needs analysis and user interface design.

*           Analyzes highly complex business requirements and designs
for interfaces within the recommended timeframe, architecture, standards
and budget. 

*           Creates the wireframes and functional specifications, impact
and risk analyses, and contributes to project plans and cost estimates. 

*           Work with technical leads on Delivery teams to communicate
user interface designs.

*           Works with developers to develop answers to ad-hoc technical
problems and ensures the low level design adheres to our standards and
usability best practices. 

*           Partner with the business and creative teams to realize
useable interfaces.

*           Leads user interface design review sessions.

*           Work with Architecture and IT Strategists during Vision and
Discovery Process. 

*           Build partnerships across application, architecture and
business teams.

*           Identifies, evaluates and implements effective user
experience design tools.

*           Advocates and develops policies and procedures for usability
and accessibility standards as defined by Wyndham Vacation Ownership.

information architecture and user experience.

*           Frequently interacts with own team, direct manager, and
peers throughout IT and their staff. 

*           Frequent interaction with business unit customers and
vendors depending on assignment. 

*           Demonstrates ability to express and organize thoughts, ideas
and information in a logical and concise manner both in writing and
verbally in relation to issues that fall within their scope of
responsibility. 

*           Ability to facilitate meeting of peers and team, clearly
articulate the issues at hand, enable discussion that leads toward
resolution and communicate results to management. 

*           Ability to work quickly and manage multiple projects and
timelines 

*           Great attitude, strong work ethic, excellent communication
skills 

*           Creative, yet meticulously detail oriented. 

 

Required Experience

 

Knowledge Base:

 

*           3+ years of experience in user centered design and
information architecture

*           Capable of clearly documenting user interface designs using
UI specification documents, prototypes, task flows, wireframes.

*           Experience in usability work for commercial applications
(Internet, Intranet, business applications) is a must.

*           Experience designing for dynamic and template-driven Web
applications

*           Knowledge of W3C and Section 508  

*           Working knowledge of usability techniques methodologies,
analysis and terminology.

*           Working knowledge of user interface theory, methodologies,
design and terminology.

*           Working knowledge of web accessibilities methodologies,
design and terminology.

*           Has undertaken competitive and content assessments. 

*           Knowledge of designing for people with disabilities an
asset.

*           Experience in business process improvement and systems
convergence initiatives. 

*           Ability to facilitate the completion of work by individuals
inside and outside the Applications Software Engineering organization
through influence / leveraging partnerships. 

*           Experience working with off shore development teams 

*           Demonstration of excellent technical, tactical, and
strategic thinking.

*           Strong facilitation and coaching skills.

*           Excellent oral and written communication and presentation
skills

 

 

 

Technical Skill Requirements:

 

*           Visual Studio.NET or Microsoft SharePoint

*           Proficiency with Microsoft Visio

*           Experience with Rational Software Modeler preferred

*           Experience in formal software development methodologies

*           Experience working with content management systems, bug
tracking systems and accessibility testing software

 

Education Requirements and/or Preferences:

 

*           Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or closely related
discipline such as Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology
(Cognitive or Experimental), Interface Design, or Computer Science. 

*           Formal Project Management Methodology a plus 

*           Previous vacation ownership experience a plus
