[IxDA Discuss] My View of Interaction Design

So in terms of the two comments from Bruce and Christine here is what
I am taking away:

Bruce feels that if we focus on the problem that interaction
designers solve, that will help us communicate our core competence
and value. Then we can adjust the prese3ntation for a specific
audience.

Christine questions whether we should include "creatives" as a
separate audience. I have to admit I was seeing that as a part of the
business area -- however we should think about the fact that marketing
people and customer support people all have responsibility for part of
the customer experience and there may be a role for us.

To that point, Jim Leftwich in another thread said: "Limiting
Interaction Design, or IxDA, to just the digital stems from a myopia
of the non-generalists...." (He might disagree with my focus on
digital in the definition) and Mark Schraad responded "I know
interaction designers that specialize in brochures."

So I think your point is well-taken, Christine.

Best,

Charlie
