Ahem.  "Companion animals," please.  Calling them "pets" denies their innate humanity.





Ow.  Sprained my tongue getting it out of my cheek.  (But I did have someone reply with that quote to a laundry list post I made on a newsgroup about 17 years ago.  I think she was kidding, but I've never been completely sure.)
