[IxDA Discuss] Ideal Design Studio

I have seen designers go to the Principle Design role... roughly the
equivalent of an art director, but usually without direct managerial
responsibility, for those who want to focus purely on the work. For
the life of me I don't understand this - but to each his/her own. The
opportunity to learn, grow and become a much better designer by
mentoring, teaching and managing is such a great experience. Same
thing for teaching design at a local college or even jr college. You
get back so much.

Mark

Also - check out a great DMI paper called 'Leveraging Design's Core
Competencies' by Chris Conley (IIT Institute of Design)
