[IxDA Discuss] Amazon equates interaction design with aerial combat

My current job has a lot to do with personalisation and recommendation
systems. No such algorithm that makes any non-trivial recommendations
will ever be 100% accurate. But then again, if a friend recommends you
something, is it always interesting for you? Probably not,  but if you
tell your friend she will probably learn and try not to make the same
mistake.

That's exactly what I've learnt from user research, that people seem
to mind less when the computer is wrong if they have a way to express
their objections (and hopefully "train" the algorithm for better
results in the future). Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't seem to have a
quick link for rejecting recommendations (or if they do, it's
certainly not been prominent enough for me to notice).
