[IxDA Discuss] Forced Registration and Dummy Information

Thanks to everyone who responded to this thread!

Luckily this project has the budget and time to afford some User
Research and I have been asking users (past customers) about forced
registration. So far (wouldn't call a statistical sample) it is
split half in half. Half had no problem registering, they want the
information -- they had intent. The other half also wanted the
information but were weary of registering, because of unwanted
solicitation and email, so they called the company directly.
Interestingly those who wouldn't register were in the mid 30's to
early 40's. The group that didn't have a problem registering were
mostly in their later 50's early 60's. Mostly everyone recognized
that the registration was part of the game and expected
solicitation. No one mentioned entering dummy information.

Thanks again,

Kevin
