Its really worth noting that hunches aren't 'guesswork' they
aren't brought to us through the ether by our creative muses.

Hunches are instinct, 
Instinct is experience,
Experience is our internal research library.

As Dan notes, if you're an innie who is expert in your domain you
can rely on your instinct to guide the design.

Research is a double edged sword and its all too easy to err on the
side of caution if you arent completely confident in the domain. 
Sometimes that means creating a more is better solution.

I like to think of Innies akin to expert witnesses, on the stand
making calls without having to refer to to notes.
