Well, you had me up to "...includes a visual
representation..."  I've done many interaction designs
using language. I've also done many interaction
designs using HTML 1.0 And in cooperation with visual
designers I've done many which were visual
representations. I've done many which were annotated,
linked process diagrams. All of them were in some
sense visual but in no case would my contribution have
been considered a visual design.

But this is a really good example of why I rail about 
the unspoken assumption that design of any kind
implicitly requires visual design.
