This doesn't speak directly to using Visio (AKA 'The Inutterable  
Pig') to create wireframes, but as long as the other threadees are  
spreading the topic out...

Adobe Fireworks CS3 has a handy new feature called 'Pages' - each  
page in the FW document can have the usual complement of layers,  
links, etc., so it's quite easy to mock up UI designs, from  
wireframes to full-blown visual mockups. In addition, one can now  
freely copy and paste content between Photoshop, Illustrator,  
Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash, so a Flash-oriented individual or  
team could build up from wireframe directly to interactive web apps  
with little or no backtracking.
