Maral -
I have run into issues around compensation for clinical and some
corporate participants as well. I've sometimes had the advantage of
pulling participants from the existing user base of the product, in
which case the hope of a more usable interface is sometimes
compensation enough . . . ;-) To find these enthusiasts, I'll poll
tech support personnel to get contacts that have strong opinions on
the current tool. But you might also offer to make a donation in
their name to a charity that they or their hospital/practice
supports. I've done both charities at the hospitals and donations
that were appropriate for the particular time and place - donations
to the Red Cross in a community that had a recent natural disaster,
etc. This kind of compensation sometimes means more cafeteria-style
testing and less long-term involvement in iterative processes, however.
