iPhone opened: http://stream.ifixit.com/ Seemingly its mostly made of
glue.

I wouldnt go as far to say the internals are bog-standard, end of
hardware story.  How its put together is critical.  I'm impressed
with the various reports on the durability, something not always
found with feature rich bleeding edge gadgets, or v1 Apple products
(o; 

But, a very important part of the ownership experience.
