[IxDA Discuss] General & Professional Liability Insurance

In my experience it's because they have a general stipulation for all
vendors. They want their contract manufacturers and window installers to
have it in case anything goes wrong.

One other negotiation tactic: I've gotten around it by billing my work
as "marketing" since they generally don't carry this stipulation for
their ad agencies.

That said, I've also had clients ask to be indemnified in case the
design sucked and no one bought the product. The Hartford agreed with me
that there isn't currently coverage for that type of event. New biz
oppty, anyone? ;)

Can I ask why companies would require this (insurance)? Sorry if this
seems naive, but I don't understand why this would be necessary.
