My take on the google implementation is that it is better that the '2 boxes
with arrows in between' solution because of the explicit nature of the
add/remove labels.  However is does not scale to multiple selection and
they've used links, not buttons, which can cause a double take on what
clicking on 'add' will do or where it might take me.  It would have been
nice if they'd used a little graphic and made both boxes the same size at
the start, the 'add>>' points out in to white space at the start.  Not to
mention they have a real link starting with the word Add not very far away.

I question the 2-boxes-with-arrows-in-between interaction.  Is it a solution
based on what I'm trying to achieve, i.e.  picking and grouping a selection
from a larger group, or is it a solution based on a limited set of building
blocks i.e. list boxes and buttons.  With the exclusion of FTP clients, I
generally think its the latter.
