[IxDA Discuss] Best schools for HCI degrees?

Stanford has several degrees related to HCI, all of which take courses in
their home departments and under the umbrella d.school (
http://www.stanford.edu/group/dschool/). None of the programs do much to
prepare you in visual design or very specific 2-d interaction design, but
provide a lot of opportunities to engage in product and experience design
since the dschool faculty are pulled heavily from places like IDEO and Jump
Associates.
No matter what program you're in, it's easy to take classes in other
programs.
- MS Computer Science - Human Computer Interaction - Pretty flexible
with elective units but requires Computer Science breadth (graphics,
programming, etc). You can waive out of the breadth with equivalent
coursework. Especially good if you're interested in ubiquitous computing
- MA Education - Learning, Design, Technology (
http://www.stanford.edu/dept/SUSE/cgi-bin/ldt/index.html) - Focus is
on educational applications of interaction and experience design.
