[IxDA Discuss] Forms Design in Desktop Applications

Up until recently I would have recommended Microsoft's own site (found
on MSDN, search for terms like "guidelines" and "user interface").
There were quite a number of good pages on both general usability
practices for desktop apps and "the Microsoft way".  There were also
articles on specialty topics such as accessability for non-mouse
users.

Unfortunately, they've revamped the site for Vista and along the way
they have broken a huge number of links and deleted much material I
found valuable.  You can still try to find things there, and I'm
hopeful they'll repair links as time progresses.  Most of my old
bookmarks now hit redirect pages and about 50% of the redirects go to
error pages.

(Full disclosure: several of the UI people at MSFT are professional
colleagues and/or friends. I have no connections to the people who
maintain the MSDN Web infrastructure.)
