I like GK,

But........

I think he is totally missing the point. The Findability debate has more
to do with how the techologies of search and web 2.0 behaviors are
creating opportunities to build information systems without designed
ontologies. There is nothing against thinking strategically about how to
organize information and designing "information architectures" and there
are many many projects that this is an essential componenent of their
success. But there are patterns now that enable us to create our own
strucutures to information, to co-create with the designer that did not
exisit before.  

What GK may be reacting to is the convergence of design disciplines
toward strategy and innovation consulting as their current activities
become comoditized by either cheaper labor, more competition or
technological solutions. In this arena depending on where one comes from
the semantics of language and the history of relevant moments in the
development of their original discipline can be very different.
Embracing the diversity of approaches is hard to do and it does add
confusion to the marketplace. It will sort its self out over time.
