Title: Senior IA/Interaction Designer
Location: San Jose area or TBD
Compensation: DOE, contract

We have several open reqs for Senior IA/Interaction Designer.
– One is an on-site engagement in the San Jose area working on an  
internal software application for a highly regarded professional  
services firm.
– Another involves a major enterprise software vendor application  
product.

Responsibilities:
· Lead GUI design processes (UCD etc)
·  Help to define and communicate the broader vision of the site or  
application
· Participate in redesigning core existing features of the  
application product
· Assess current features and proposed new usage patterns
· Lead user interviews and feedback analysis
· Assist with defining and revising features and functionality
· Define user goals, high-level task flows and navigational schemas
· Create conceptual diagrams (flows, maps etc) and detailed screen  
functionality layouts (wireframes)

Requirements:
· 5+ years (minimum) of IA/IX design experience
· Experience leading the design for complex desktop and/or browser- 
based application(s)
· Demonstrated experience in designing usable interfaces
· Excellent skills in conceptual design, collaboration and organization
· Leadership, communication and teamwork a plus
· An understanding of Web-based technologies including DHTML, Flash  
and AJAX (coding not required)
· An ability to effectively communicate between designers and engineers
· Degree in human-computer interaction (HCI) or a related field  
preferred; bachelor’s degree in either computer science or graphic  
arts a plus
· References and work samples required
