I personally think that a portfolio is a much better representation than a
resume. Some people say that its the process not the final product While
partially correct, thats what the personal interview is for.
In most cases, I just think that the hiring manager is too busy/ lazy :) But
isn't it better than calling someone for an interview and realizing they are
not a good fit at all.
Another peeve I have is that most job descriptions are written so
generically. There is rarely focus on what the job really entails. Instead
its just a bunch of everything. I went into atleast one interview where the
job was a specialist IA, but the job profile didn't say anything
about it...nor did my portfolio...why waste time?
