Hi Joe --

We're teaching a course on this exact topic at User Interface 11 in 10
days.

http://www.uie.com/events/uiconf/2006/

There is an interview on the website about the course, and a detailed
student manual which you might be able to order at some point. It's not
online. It simply gives you a lot of detail.

Some of the resources we drew from. They are not all directly related to
roles and staffing:

More Influential and Lead Organizational Change?" UPA 2005

Also check out the UPA Body of Knowledge

Finally, the Hiser Group sells a tool called Usability Canasta Cards
which is a method for helping you see where you should target your
efforts when trying to convince management about the value of UCD.

Hope that helps!

Looking for some good online resources on staffing and roles for a UCD
team. I am basically in the position where I need to "persuade" my
management team that the model CANT be simply:

business --> web design---> development (and usability testing is
there when the 3 don't agree).

Yea...thats the world I have to deal with.

So far I have read through IBM's blurb:

http://www-03.ibm.com/easy/page/570

Its good, but its IBM...

You guys have good resources or more real world insight (meaning not
monster company or academic)?

-Joe
