Lead & Entry Level Software User Interface Designers

You're not the run-of-the-mill graphic designer. Sure, you've done your
share of brochures and web sites, but you're different. You design
software user interfaces making the systems people utilize every day
easier to use and visually stunning. You take pride in your work and
you're looking for some new projects to sink your teeth into.

Electronic Ink, a pioneer in the development of user-centered design, is
seeking Software User Interface Designers who are fascinated by complex
user interface design projects with Fortune 1000 clients. 

Electronic Ink brings together human factors, technology and design to
provide our clients with world-class software interface solutions. The
design team creates interfaces for web and desktop applications,
dashboards, portals and websites by understanding the users' intentions
and ensuring the designs meet the users' needs.

Entry Level Job Requirements:

*	A thorough understanding of user-centered design and the
benefits of getting feedback early and often
*	Formal training in graphic design, human-computer interaction or
a similar field
*	Ability to use design applications such as Adobe Illustrator,
InDesign and Photoshop
*	Capability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while
still achieving milestones and delivering outstanding work
*	Excellent communication skills within a collaborative
environment
*	Ability to convert black-and-white wireframes into visually
appealing aesthetics
*	Comfort in working directly with clients both over the phone and
in-person
*	Understanding of web and desktop technology constraints and
possibilities
*	Familiarity with interaction design and information
visualization a plus
*	2+ years of experience in software user interface design
*	Understanding that user interface design is not simply
organizing fields on a screen, but providing the best interface for the
task and user
*	Comfort with receiving critical assessments of your work from
designers, users, clients and human factors experts

 

Lead Position Job Requirements:

*	A working knowledge of business economics and consulting
practice
*	Ability to extend relationships with existing clients by
identifying new opportunities
*	5+ years of experience in software user interface design; 2+ as
a project lead
*	Ability to use project management techniques to lead a team of
designers, technologists and human factors professionals
*	Ability to think on your feet and respond to client requests
quickly and accurately
*	A solid understanding of information architecture, information
visualization, and interaction design
*	A background in pharmaceutical, financial or healthcare a plus
*	Able to travel intermitantly to support client and project needs
*	A strong portfolio of real-world applications for which you've
design the user interface

Compensation is commensurate with experience
