Interactive Design Agency seeks Interaction Designer

 

HUGE, a design and marketing agency in Brooklyn, NY, has openings for
Full-time Interaction Desginers obsessed with building great websites
and software. 

 

Interaction designers at HUGE handle several key stages of product
development. You'll start with developing the correct conceptual model

-understanding exactly who the users are and describing and ranking

their goals and behaviors -- and end with the development of polished

design blueprints and specifications. 

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

 

*	Determine a product's mandate, feature set, and business
requirements 
*	Participate in user testing or fieldwork
*	Develop user personas, scenarios of use, interaction models 
*	Create wireframes and functional prototypes
*	Document feature behavior in loving, painstaking detail
*	Collaborate with HUGE teammates, HUGE clients, and third parties
to ensure that your solutions survive the development process 

  

REQUIREMENTS:

 

*	Proven, hands-on ability to apply the methodologies of
interaction design to software development, and to generate designs that
deliver power and pleasure to customers
*	2+ years experience designing and documenting windows
applications or large-scale web-based applications, involving detailed
design schematics and business rules.
*	Tendency to lose sleep over how to remove the need for "Cancel"
buttons.
*	Proven ability to multi-task
*	Solid writing and visual communication skills
*	Familiarity with usability heuristics and relevant HCI
literature
*	Knowledge of Visio or other tool for generating wireframes and
	behavior specifications

 

NOTE: this position is not suitable for people who are primarily

Graphic Designers, Implementation Specialists, Usability Analysts, or

Information Architects without experience developing large-scale

websites or software products. We value those people, and you'll meet

many of them at HUGE, but that's not how we define Interaction

Designer.
