New to the list here ... I actually tend to have the opposite problem right
now. We are a small startup of five people and I'm the lone designer
working with two programmers (a la 37signals style) on a blended learning
(online and offline learning) solution. Soliciting the opinions of everyone
else on some of my design decisions usually elicits simple agreement
responses rather than constructive criticism or further suggestions. It
seems like they tend to assume that I'm going to make the best decisions
anyway because I tend to have the most ideas, and whatever I do will be
great, but of course I question myself sometimes.

Design by committee is definitely a problem as well (been there, done that),
but I think there is some sort of balance between the lone genius designer
and the overkill of the committee ...

Cheers,
