On the other hand, I believe strongly in involving non-designers as part of the internal team to gain feedback and guide the evolution of a project. A collaborative process will definitely produce better results than a designer working by himself/herself. The idea of the lone genius designer developing a complete product design by themselves is gone.
 
[Russ]:  I agree on most points, but then who makes the final call?  In other words, I believe that design should take input and be collaborative
to a certain degree, but I don't agree that ultimately decisions should be decided through voting or some other "group" means.  You have to
have someone making the final call (based on input from everyone).
