This is like asking for all recorded user reactions to each navigation
technique. You won't find that. Besides, it probably wouldn't solve your
problem - it would just overwhelm you. The value of looking at different
patterns is that you can play out how your content would fit into these
alternatives.
You could check Nielsen's books and articles to get a historical perspective
and summaries on the relative success of general techniques. However, it
will bring you back to questions that focus on the content and context
you're assigned to. The content and context you're working with will have
characteristics that will lead to specific advantages and disadvantages in
the design alternatives you pick. You can't just say breadcrumbs are good
or bad. Even if you go to a Forrester article that evaluate features on
specific sites (left navigation goes away at dell.com), you'd still be
limited to how the content *of that site at that time* played out in the
analysis. You gotta find what works for you.
