When I was 10 years old, I had a friend named Mary. She had 5 sisters
named Mary. They all had different middle names, but you can imagine
the confusion wrought by consistency.

I am now living around many non-English speakers and am constantly
frustrated by the way they press "Okay" for every single dialog box
that comes up. I cannot tell you how much has been lost due to
"consistency." Alan Cooper always says something like "Consistency is
not a virtue."

It's so much better to have buttons that are meaningful than
consistent. Take it from my friend Mary.
