We are an executive retained search firm. Our client, a multi billion
dollar leader in the travel industry located in the Dallas, TX, is
looking for a Principal GUI Architect with vision, passion - someone who
understands cutting edge technologies and can take the company to the
next level. 

Summary: The ideal candidate for the position of Principal GUI Architect
will already have an industry presence in the areas of User Interaction
and Web 2.0 technologies. This could include; presenting at conferences,
publishing white papers or magazine articles, creating and maintaining
blogs on Web 2.0 and user interaction technologies, and active
participation in open source Web 2.0 technologies. The Principal GUI
Architect will be responsible for maintaining their industry presence,
and approximately 10-15% of their available work hours will be dedicated
to this task. Primary focus will be on elevating the technical prowess
and User Interface innovation technologies. 
Position Description, Key Duties/Responsibilities: 
Our client is looking for a Web 2.0 / User Interaction Guru, an
Evangelist to take its company to the next level. Primary experience and
proficiency should be in information architecture and advanced user
interface design. This includes: 
* Developing optimal product workflow and usability as well as extensive
experience with interaction design. 
* Working with product management and customers to develop paper
prototypes and user interface mockups. 
* Conducting and participating in concept generation activities
including the development of user profiles; user scenarios,
organizational models, task models, and feature lists. 
* Creating process flows, site maps, wireframes, navigation systems,
screen prototypes, and conceptual models to clarify and refine new
product solutions. 
* Experienced in web based applications (not just websites). 
* Substantial experience in designing with and implementing Web 2.0
technologies such as Dynamic HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, Lazlo, FLEX,
and Flash. While actual coding experience is preferred, general
understanding of these technologies and how they can be utilized to
implement extremely usable web applications is a must. 
* Experience in graphic design is a major plus. 


Job Requirements: 
* Strong tract-record of success in creative design in a web production
environment. 
* 5+ years of demonstrated expertise in user interface design and
implementation 
* Understands and believes in usability as a competitive advantage and
as it applies to technology 
* Ability to set strategic direction for usability/user interface for
entire web product line 
* Ability to lead and influence others; excellent verbal and written
communication skills. 
* Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, information design, industrial
design, or related area preferred. Advanced degree preferred. 
* Candidate should be prepared to show an outstanding portfolio of
detailed page schematics, functional specifications, interaction flows,
site maps, navigation systems, and wireframes. 
* Experience with any of the following technologies and tools are a
plus: Dynamic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, FLEX, Lazlo, Flash, ASP, JSP,
Java Servlets, Struts, Java Applets, J2EE, VBScript, JavaScript, Apache,
Tomcat, IIS, JBoss, TIBCO Portal, SunOne Portal, Oracle Portal, and
other Portal Technology, CGI, PERL, PHP, Ruby on Rails, Microsoft VISIO
and Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop and other Graphic Design
tools, Internet Explorer, and Firefox.

Compensation: Base $100K - $140K plus 10% - 15% bonus
