I'm the exact opposite. I find the "more" links incredibly helpful. It
was a bit of a behavior change (if one clicks on an arrow, one expects
the image in the main staging area to change), but I quickly adapted
to it once I figured out how it worked. It allows me to browse through
thumbnails from within a person's photostream without leaving the main
page. If I see something that I'd like to see larger, I can click on
the thumbnail. I *adore* this functionality.
