On one project at the first company I worked for, the project specification document (or whatever the right term was: scoping needs and time requirements for each department, feature list, yadda yadda) had this line (more or less):

"There will be no need for Quality Assurance on this project because quality will be built in."

Nearly 15 years later and I still can't say that line with a straight face.
