[IxDA Discuss] Tools for communicating styles to developers

Does anyone have any nifty ideas/thoughts/tools for creating design-specific style guides from photoshop mockups?

Basically, i've designed a site and now have to communicate the various styles - text, padding, margins, etc... - to the coders. 

Ideally, simply creating html rather than graphic mockups would save time (but add it to the design phase).

My current method of choice is using illustrator to create visual style guides, using a legend, etc... there are problems with this approach, mainly that it's time consuming and not comprehensive.

Any bright ideas out there?
