Actually, in work contents, we're often forced to do so for lack of time and
resources. Not an ideal situation, but fortunately, not an impossible
challenge with enough experience, knowledge, and concern for users' needs.
Of course, using as many user-centered design methodologies as possible is
the ideal.

I see the UCD methodologies and interaction design as separate though. The
methodologies are how you figure out what road you want to hit and whether
you've hit it and interaction design is where the rubber meets the road. The
methodologies support interaction design and help you to iteratively refine
your designs, but may even be performed by a different person.
