Not to sure if this is a valid design complaint or just a major pet peave.
But what is it with dynamic web pages (such as the survey) insisting on
using their own home-rolled widgets? The HTML spec has well-defined widgets
in it, and any modern browser already has a full array of standard and
accessible interactions supported for these widgets. Custom-made widgets
barely obey any conventions of designing for the user's environment.
What's up with that.

Subject: [ID Discuss] AIGA Experience Design knowledge sharing survey
Hello IxD-Discuss list members:
AIGA Experience Design is carrying out interview and survey-based
research to help us better understand how people working in an
around experience/interaction design find, manage and share various
kinds of design-related information.
This is the initial stage of a longer-term initiative to create useful
and usable knowledge sharing processes and tools for experience design
professionals, students, and educators. The results of this survey will
be used in conjunction with other qualitative research to help define
the scope of the project as well as direct the eventual solution.
The survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete. It will be online
until the end of next week (Friday 23 April). The more responses we have
the better we will be able to plan the next stage. Click the link below
to take the survey:

If you are interested in greater participation in this process, please
be sure to fill in your name and email address at the end of the
survey. Results will be confidential.
